Rodeo isn’t the only sport in OK City.
Remington Park is a terrific thoroughbred racing track, and a good place to see quality horses. Remington soon will also be a terrific place to place other sorts of bets as its casino, with more than 600 electronic gaming machines opens.
The city also is home to the AAA Redhawks, the top farm club of baseball’s Texas Rangers, and the Yard Dawgs of the Arena Football 2 league. The Oklahoma City Blazers area top minor league hockey team and two of the best college football teams in America, the Oklahoma Sooners and Oklahoma State Cowboys, are both an easy drive away.
But, if you would rather “do” than “watch”, Oklahoma City is your kind of town. There are numerous jogging trails, several ice skating and hockey rinks, golf, tennis and OKC Rocks, an indoor rock climbing facility.
Oklahoma City is also a great place if you like water sports. Nearby lakes Hefner, Overholser and Stanley Draper are great for fishing, boating, swimming and camping.
